Disconnect K-Hitch from Tractor
DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
A crushing hazard exists while connecting and
disconnecting the K-Hitch. Keep people and animals away
while backing-up to or pulling away from, the K-Hitch.
Do not operate hydraulic controls while a person or animal
is directly behind the power machine or near the K-Hitch.
•
Do not engage power take-off while connecting or
disconnecting the driveline, or while someone is standing
near the driveline. A person’s body and/or clothing can
become entangled in the driveline.
CAUTION
!
To avoid minor or moderate injury:
Keep a firm grip on the K-Hitch at all times while connecting/
disconnecting to a tractor. Keep feet and all other body
extremities out from under the lower 3-point hitch areas, as
the unit could fall causing injury. When possible, have a
second person on hand to help.
Refer to Figure 1-1 on page 12:
1. Shut down tractor properly. Refer to
2. Raise K-Hitch side of driveline until trunnion keys (A)
clear top of slots (B) in K-Hitch. Pull towards tractor
until it is clear of the K-Hitch and lower down.
3. With K-Hitch secured by an overhead hoist, remove
hairpin cotter (#4) and upper hitch pin (#3) to
disconnect from the tractor’s center 3-point link.
4. Remove linchpins (#2) and lower hitch pins (#1) to
disconnect K-Hitch from the tractor’s 3-point lift arms.
5. Move K-Hitch away from tractor and reinstall
hardware removed in steps 3-4. Store on level, solid
ground.
IMPORTANT:
Because of the weight of the K-Hitch
it is recommended that you use an overhead hoist to
connect/disconnect the K-Hitch.
6. To remove the driveline from the tractor, pull lock
collar back. With collar pulled back, remove driveline
from power take-off shaft. Store for later use.
