Installation of Optional Shields

Refer to Figure 1-2:

1.

On the left-hand side, remove hex flange lock 
nuts (#7), bolts (#5 & #6), and pivot pins (#2 & #3). 
Discard bolt (#6). Keep remaining hardware for 
reuse.

2.

Slide optional cylinder shield (#1) over hydraulic 
cylinder (#8) as shown until pivot holes in shield align 
with pivot hole at base of cylinder (#8).

3.

Reinsert existing pivot pin (#3) through pivot hole 
in shield (#1), clevis plate “B”, base of hydraulic 
cylinder (#8), clevis plate (“A”), and out opposite pivot 
hole in shield (#1).

4.

Secure pivot pin (#3) with new 1/2"-13 x 1 1/2" GR5 
cap screw (#6), new spacer (#4), and existing hex 
flange locknut (#7). Tighten locknut to the correct 
torque.

5.

Attach rod end of hydraulic cylinder (#8) to front 
clevis plates with existing pivot pin (#2). 

6.

Secure pivot pin (#2) with 1/2"-13 x 1 1/4" GR5 
cap screw (#5) and hex flange locknut (#7). Tighten 
locknut to the correct torque.

7.

Repeat steps 1-6 for the right-hand side.
