Section 1: Assembly & Set-up
Skid Steer/Tractor Requirements
This Post Hole Digger is designed to attach to skid steers,
track loaders, or tractor front-end loaders with a skid
steer type quick attach hitch that meets SAE with the
following requirements:
SAE Lift Capacity . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1200 lbs. min.
Hydraulic Pressure Rating . . . . . . . . 1500 - 3500 PSI.
Hydraulic Flow Rate . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10 to 30 gpm.
Hydraulic Connections . . . . 2 - Hydraulic outlets min.
Power Machine Weight
Machine horsepower and weight must be capable of
controlling the Post Hole Digger under all operating
conditions. Light weight machines must not be used.

Refer to
“Torque Values Chart”
on page 27 to
determine correct torque values for bolts when tightening
hardware.
Power Machine Shutdown Procedure
The following are basic power machine shutdown
procedures. Follow these procedures and any additional
shutdown procedures provided in your power machine
Operator’s Manual before leaving the operator’s seat.
1.
Reduce engine speed and shut-off all power to the
attachment.
2.
Park on solid, level ground and lower attachment until
it is flat on the ground or on non-concrete support
blocks.
3.
If shutting down a tractor, put tractor in park or set
park brake.
4.
Turn off engine, and remove switch key to prevent
unauthorized starting.
5.
Relieve all hydraulic pressures.
6.
If included, raise seat bar and move controls until
both lock.
7.
Wait for all components to come to a complete stop
before leaving the operator’s seat.
8.
Use steps, grab-handles, and anti-slip surfaces
when stepping on and off the power machine.

1.
Make sure hydraulic hoses do not interfere with hitch
hook-up.
2.
Drive machine slowly to the Post Hole Digger making
sure its hitch is parallel with the Post Hole Digger
hitch plate.
3.
Rotate top of machine tilt arms slightly forward.
4.
Place top of Skid Steer/Tractor hitch under the top
angled bars on the Post Hole Digger hitch plate.
5.
Slowly lift Skid Steer/Tractor hitch up until the top
angle bars and Skid Steer hitch have come together.
6.
Push lock handles of Skid Steer/Tractor hitch down
so that the pins go through bottom slots of Post Hole
Digger hitch plate and handles lock down.
