3. Software Installation
Configuration of the adapter is automatic; the notebook PC automati-
cally detects the available resources and allocates to the adapter re-
sources it requires. Exceptions are with older notebook PCs that are
equipped with PC Card slot hardware but which have no Socket Ser-
vices nor Card Services software.
To provide for these exceptions, the adapter driver diskette includes
programs that interface with such hardware and allow you to specify
the necessary configuration parameters. For further information, re-
fer to the Readme.txt file on the diskette.
NOTE:
Before installing the adapter software for operation under
DOS with expanded memory support (EMM386.EXE loaded and ac-
tivated), it is necessary to exclude the address range D000-D7FF.
Check your CONFIG.SYS file to ascertain that the DEVICE com-
mand which loads EMM386.EXE includes NOEMS switch and range
data in accordance with the following example:
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=D000-D7FF
