WIKA Operating Instructions Level Transmitter
– BLM-SF-FM
Hints for handling inflammable media under pressure:
It must be absolutely guaranteed that when an increase of
pressure occurs, no gas-air mixture is present. On the one
hand, the explosion prevention measures apply only under
atmospheric conditions, on the other hand, with increasing
pressure both the temperature can rise (adiabatic com-
pression) and the ignition temperature becomes dramati-
cally smaller. Therefore, slow pressure increases can al-
ready result in a severe danger of ignition. Further it has to
be noticed, that the indicated temperature class only ap-
plies in combination with the respective ambient tempera-
ture.
Attention:
Operation of the device is allowed only under considera-
tion of the corrosion durability in the environmental condi-
tions.
