D. Convert Gas Control Valve
Step 1: With a T20 Torx (star-bit) driver, remove (2) screws from the
regulator solenoid assembly. See
FIGURE 3.
Step 2: Remove and discard the old stepper regulator solenoid
assembly and gasket from valve body.
Step 3: Remove the protective plastic cover on the included stepper
regulator solenoid assembly.
Step 4: Install new gasket into the gasket groove and place stepper
regulator solenoid assembly on to the valve.
Step 5: Secure the assembly to the gas valve with (2) screws previously
removed. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
Step 6: Connect the new stepper regulator solenoid assembly gang
plug into the control module as shown in
Step 7: Slide the fuel type selector to NG. See
FIGURE 4

E. Complete the Conversion
Step 1: Adjust the burner venturi. Loosen the screw securing the
venturi cap and adjust to the correct setting. See
FIGURE 5
and
TABLE 2.
Regardless of venturi orientation, closing the air shutter will
achieve a desired yellow flame, but may produce soot on the
glass. Opening the air shutter will cause a short, blue flame that
may lift off the burner.
Slight adjustments to the venturi opening will create dramatic
results. Adjust at slight increments until desired look is achieved.
Step 2: Reinstall media dam for propane placement.
Step 3: Reinstall all components previously removed in section

(pg.
3). Refer to the installation manual for more information.
Step 4: Turn the manual valve counterclockwise to the ON position.
Step 5: Reconnect electrical power.
Step 6: Check for leaks at all connections with soapy water.
