The KBox A-103 provides two internal mPCIe slots (J27 and J37). The onboard slot J27 is used
for installation of the the mPCIe card for PROFIBUS (Figure 23, pos. 11). This PCIe slot J27 of
the baseboard can be fitted only at the factory with a PROFIBUS expansion card.
4.8.1.
Integrated SMARC-sXBTi Module
Your KBox A-103 accommodates a baseboard with an SMARC-sXBTi module. It is located on the bottom side of the
baseboard and is not accessible for the user.
Refer to the information and technical data in the user manual of the installed SMARC-sXBTi
module.

. Search for the name of the installed board.
4.8.2.
SATA Interface
Depending on the system configuration ordered your KBox A-103 can be extended with a 2.5" SATA SSD. It is located
on the inside of the access cover (refer Figure 25 pos. 4).
4.8.3.
mSATA Socket
Depending on the system configuration ordered your KBox A-103 can be extended with an mSATA SSD.
For installation/removing of the mSATA SSD, refer to the subsection 5.1.6, “Installing an mSATA SSD”.
4.8.4.
Expansion Slots for mPCIe Cards
Depending on the system configuration ordered your KBox A-103 can be extended with up to two mPCIe cards.
The KBox A-103 provides two internal mPCIe slots (J27 and J37). The J27 slot is used for
installation of the the mPCIe card for PROFIBUS (Figure 23, pos. 8) and can be only at the
factory fitted with aPROFIBUS expansion card.
The J37 slot (Figure 23, pos. 16) can be used for the installation of a mPCIe WLAN card or an
mPCIe modem adapter card (which uses the onboard SIM card reader socket).
For installation of an mPCIe card into an mPCIe slot please refer to the subsection 5.1.5 “Installing an mPCIe Mini Card“.
If an mPCIe WLAN card is installed into your KBox A-103, the SIM card slot is not functional.
4.8.4.1.
SIM Card
The baseboard of the KBox A-103 is equipped with a SIM card socket (Figure 23, pos. 6).
To avoid damage to the SIM card, insert the SIM card before you turn the power on and
remove the SIM card after you turn the power off.
