To remove the riser card assembly:
1.
Power down the server and remove all peripheral devices and the power cord(s)
2.
Remove the back chassis cover. For instructions, see “Removing the Chassis Covers”
in Section 3.2.
3.
Loosen the blue captive thumb screw (Figure 12, “B”) at the rear of the chassis.
Notice the guide pins that will be used to re-install the riser assembly into the
chassis. (“A”)
4.
Lift the riser card assembly out of the chassis.
5.
If there is a riser card in the assembly, rest the assembly upside-down with the
sheet metal cover on the bottom so the assembly is not resting on the card edge.

Re-Installing the Riser Card Assembly
To re-install the riser card assembly:
1.
Position the riser front tab guide hole over the guide pin on the server board. See
Figure 13, (“C”).
2.
Make sure the forks on the back of the assembly rest securely on the guide pins on
the rear of the chassis (“B”).
3.
Using the blue touch points on the top of the assembly (A), press down to mate the
riser card with the header on the server board.
NOTE: To avoid damaging the card edge, be sure that the card is lined up straight with
the header, not on an angle.
4.
Tighten the blue retention screw on the rear of the chassis. See Figure 12.
5.
Replace the chassis back cover. For instructions see “Re-Installing the Back Cover”
in Section 3.2.
