1. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
BRAKE CYLINDER
The piston cylinder is used to create braking force to the wheel brakes. As soon as
compressed air acts on the piston of the brake cylinder, that cylinder is force out. Via the
plunger the piston force acts on the brake linkage. The piston force of the brake cylinder is
depending upon the piston surface and the pressure acting on that surface. A fabric filter
fitted in the front of the cylinder jacket prevents dirt and dust from getting inside the cylinder
as the piston is retracted.
MAINTENANCE
If defects become apparent during visual or functional checks, the brake cylinder needs to be
replaced or repaired. Even if functioning properly the brake cylinder should be reconditioned
at 2-5 year intervals.
PARKING BRAKE
The machine is equipped with a mechanically operated Parking Brake. Do not release the
parking brake until the tractor is hocked to the machine. The parking brake is mounted on
the right side of the draw bar.
