If a wooden box has been closed using screws, always remove them using a
screwdriver.
Do not attempt to force the lid open with a crowbar or similar tool.

Once the carton is open, carefully remove all loose packing and insulation material.

Check for user manuals and other documents that may have been added to the
carton during packing.

Check also for special tools, door keys etc.

Unpacking mechanical units
Prior to installation or use, mechanical units must be unpacked from their transport boxes.
It is important that this unpacking is done without inflicting damage to the equipment.
Prerequisites
Observe the procedure for unpacking of standard parts and units.
Context
Mechanical and electromechanical units may be heavy.
A transducer must always be handled as a delicate item. Wrongful actions may damage
the transducer beyond repair.
Observe these transducer handling rules:

Do not
activate the transducer when it is out of the water.
•
Do not
lift the transducer by the cables.
•
Do not
step on the transducer cables.
•
Do not
damage the transducer cables, avoid sharp objects.
•
Do not
handle the transducer roughly, avoid impacts.
•
Do not
expose the transducer to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
•
Do not
use high pressure water, sand blasting, metal tools or strong solvents to clean
the transducer face.
•
Do not
damage the outer protective skin on the transducer.
Procedure

Obtain the necessary lifting equipment, and make sure that the equipment is
certified for the weight.
