2-3 Applying lubricant jelly
* Before using the model, be sure to apply a generous amount of lubricant jelly to the inside of
the intestine. Insuffi cient application of lubricant may increase scope-to-intestine resistance and
make the insertion of the scope diffi cult.
* Use lubricant jelly that is specifi cally designed for endoscopes.
Lubricant should be applied to the following openings

1) Remove the simulated peritoneal membrane sheet, and detach the colon connector at the point
shown in the right illustration below.
2) Pull the ascending colon upward to remove it from the main unit.
