Operation
Warning
Never plug in the appliance when the pot on
the base is empty.
Note
During cooking, the indicator cycles on and
off to indicate that the temperature is being
regulated.
Preparing fondue
You can cook your ingredients either in oil,
broth, melted cheese or in chocolate. The
cooking procedure is slightly different for each
cooking method.
Use with oil or broth
• In order to heat the oil or broth, rotate the
temperature control clockwise to
MAX
.
• For broth - when bubbles start to form
in the pot (similar to boiling water), it
indicates that the required temperature
has been reached.
• For oil - Dip the tip of a wooden spatula
into the oil. If the required temperature has
been reached, small bubbles form on the
immersed part of the spatula.
• When the required temperature is reached,
insert the ingredients speared on the forks
into the pot.
• Reduce the temperature if some of the
uncooked food browns too quickly.
•
Note:
Cooking time depends greatly on
the size and consistency of the ingredients
(meat, vegetables, etc.) and your own
preferences.
Use with cheese or chocolate
• In order to melt the cheese/chocolate,
rotate the temperature control clockwise
to
MAX
.
• Stir the cheese/chocolate continuously
until it is completely melted.
• When cheese/chocolate has melted,
reduce the temperature to prevent
cheese/chocolate from sticking to the
bottom of the pot.
• Keep checking with a wooden spatula to
see whether the cheese/chocolate starts
to stick to the bottom of the pot.
• Keep stirring occasionally and reduce the
temperature further if needed.
• Now dip suitable ingredients into the
melted cheese/chocolate.
Note
Do not eat directly from the forks. They
are very hot and have sharp edges.
Risk of
injury!
The fondue forks have different colour
handle tips, which can help each guest to
identify their own forks.
Notes for using oil
Never mix different types of oil as this will
cause the oil to spatter or overflow.
Hot oil can cause serious burns. Do not move
the appliance while it is in use or as long as
parts or contents are hot.
Discard oil after each use.
