WARNING
Personal injury caused by poisoning or explosion
and damage to the pump.

Make sure that no reactive or explosive mixtures
will be produced when gas ballast valve is open.
When pumping vaporous media, opening the gas ballast valve
can minimise the formation of condensation in the pump
heads.
Opening the gas ballast valve deteriorates ultimate vacuum
performance.
The gas ballast valve can be opened and closed via the gas ballast
switch (Fig. 2/
6 , p. 13 or Fig. 4/ 4 , p. 17, Fig. 5/ 4 , p. 19 and Fig. 6/ 3 ,
p. 21):
- push once

open gas ballast valve, blue LED on
- push again

close gas ballast valve again, blue LED off
Please contact KNF Service if you require an inert connection for
the gas ballast.
