4.1 Changing the grease lter
• Change
paper
greas
e fi
lters monthly.
• Change
paper grease lters with
alarm
every two months or when
the colour of the surface gets visible
through the mesh openings. Thi
s fi
lter
is coloured on one side; a
ft
e
r fi
tting,
this colouring must not be visible
through the mesh openings.
Prior to any maintenance or cleaning
work, isolate the hood from the electrical
supply by:
pulling out the appliance connector plug
or tripping the house installation circuit
breaker or fully unscrew the screw type
fuse from the house installation
• The extractor hood may not be clea-
ned with a steam cleaner.
• Do not use cleaning agents contai-
ning alcohol to clean appliances with
a matt blac
k fi
nish. This can lead to
discolouring.
• Non-compliance with the mainte-
nance and cleaning instructions can
result i
n a fi
re hazard due to grease
deposits.
• The greas
e fi
lters on your appliance
are to be cleaned or replaced at regu-
lar intervals.
• Filters saturated with grease can
quickly catc
h fi
re and also distribute
unpleasant odours.
• Greas
e fi
lters obstructed by dirt par-
ticles seriously impair the appliance
function.
• Especially cleaning the area of the
control elements, take great care to
prevent water entering the electro-
nics.
Special information for appliances
with a stainless steel casing
A commercially available non-abrasive
stainless steel cleaning agent should be
used for cleaning stainless steel surfaces.
Treatment with a stainless steel preser-
vative is recommended to prevent sur-
faces becoming quickly re-soiled. Apply
the agent all over and economically
using a soft loth.
Never use stainless steel cleaning
agents in the vicinity of the control
elements.
When cleaning metal grease
fi
lters take
care not to damage the mesh. Frequent
cleaning or the use of aggressive cleaning
agents can cause colour changes to the
metal surface. These do not a
ff
ect to the
fi
lter function and are not reasons for
complaints.
