Fine-tuning
Simply turn the dial on the front of the Mockmill to adjust the desired setting.
The setting for the flour can be adjusted between „fine“ and „coarse“. The
different sized points on the Mockmill housing assist you in finding the desired
setting. The setting for the finest grinding level can be found like this: Turn the
dial in the direction “fine” until the point on the dial matches up to the smallest
point on the Mockmill housing.
Fold down the run-off plate onto the edge of the mixing bowl. Fill grain into the
hopper and turn on the KitchenAid stand mixer. Optimal grinding occurs on
the KitchenAid speed settings 9 or 10.
You can add the remaining ingredients for the recipe into the bowl while
the flour is grinding.
You can interrupt the grain grinding anytime and resume grinding at a
later point in time.
Be careful: For Tilt-Head Artisan® Mixers do not lift head while grain is
still in the Mockmill hopper as it will spill.
Cleaning the Mockmill
The stone burr cleans itself if you grind on a coarse setting from time to
time. In case the Mockmill will not be used for some time, for example
before going on vacation, it is recommended to clean the remaining flour
from the grinding stones. That is very easy to do. Take the Mockmill apart
as shown on the pictures below. Use a small brush to remove any
remaining flour.
