WARNING!
• Discharging / Killing the battery is permanent. Once the
alarm has been discharged, it cannot be reactivated!
• Once discharged, the alarm will NO LONGER DETECT SMOKE
or CO.
• Once the alarm is discharged the battery will be depleted
and the alarm will no longer function.
• Once the alarm has been discharged, it cannot be mounted
onto the mounting plate or reactivated.
11. Discharging / Killing The Battery
WARNING! Failure to DISCHARGE alarm as instructed prior to
disposal may create potential for lithium battery related fire or
hazard.
To Discharge The Alarm:
•
Rotate the alarm counterclockwise to
remove it from the mounting plate.
• Use a screwdriver to break off the
plastic tab as indicated to allow to
discharge / kill the battery.
• After the tab is broken, use the
screwdriver to turn the slotted arrow
to the “DISCHARGE / KILL BATTERY”
location. This will discharge the
alarm, stop the low battery or end
of life “chirps” and render the alarm
safe for disposal by draining the
battery.
