FMCW analysis
The output signal from the wideband IF can be used for time domain radar pulse
analysis if the 89601B/BN-BHP FMCW Radar Analysis option is installed on the
VSA89600 software. Please consult the user help documentation for instruction
and the details of how to perform the analysis. The following section will show
briefly and in general how the analysis software is used.
Step Action Notes
1 Set up the N9041B to route the IF
output from the rear wideband IF
output connector to the oscilloscope
input.
a Perform the steps described in “Using
Wideband IF Output” on page 24 up to
step 9.
2 Change measurement type to FMCW
Analysis.
a Activate the analysis. From the
MeasSetup menu select
Measurement Type


3 Set the FMCW properties to help the
software detect the FMCW regions.
a From the MeasSetup menu select
FMCW Radar Properties and change
the parameters accordingly in the
dialog box and respective tabs.
In Figure 12 , due to the fact that the
generated test signal has 2 m s pulse
length.
In
Figure 13 , in the Time tab, the
Maximum Region Count has been set to
20 and Acquisition Length changed to
50 m s.
Frequency Values was changed to
Absolute to show the actual IF
frequencies.
