8. A L I G N M E N T
Y o u r V T - 1 7 1 w a s precisely preset a t the f a c t o r y . How-
ever, it can be aligned through the adjust holes located
on the right-hand side w i t h leaving it housed in the
casing, if required. In realignment, f i r s t adjust the line
voltage to the voltage, use a precisely c a l i b r a t e d measur-
ing instruments, and proceed a s f o l l o w s ( a l s o , see Figures
1 through 3 ) .
1. Before turning the O N / O F F s w i t c h " O N " , a d j u s t the
Meter zero-adjust screw until the pointer correctly
indicates "0".
2. Connect a voltmeter c a l i b r a t o r 1 k H z ( o r 4 0 0 H z )
output to the I N P U T c o n n e c t o r ® .
3. Set the voltmeter c a l i b r a t o r output voltage to 3 0 m V
and set the R A N G E selector © on your V T - 1 7 1 I~VT-
171EJ to the " 30m V " range.
4. A d j u s t V R 1 0 2 until the pointer s w i n g s to the f u l l
scale.
5. In t u r n , set the voltmeter c a l i b r a t o r output voltage to
10V and set the R A N G E selector 3 to the " 1 0 V " range.
6. A d j u s t V R 1 0 1 until the pointer swings to the f u l l
scale.
