REFRIGERATOR INSTALLATION
POSITIONING AND LEVELING
THE REFRIGERATOR
Now that the refrigerator has been assembled, position and
level the refrigerator.
The refrigerator has two front leveling legs—one on the right
and one on the left. Adjust legs to alter tilt from front to back
or side to side. If the refrigerator seems unsteady or if you
want the doors to close more easily, adjust the refrigerator’s
tilt using the instructions below:
NOTE:
Make sure it meets all the requirements listed
on page 9.
1. Plug the refrigerator’s power cord into a 3-prong
grounded outlet. Move the refrigerator into its final
position.
2. Open the refrigerator doors and place a level on the lower
shelf. Check to make sure it is level from side
to side and front to back.
NOTE:
Having someone push backward against the top of
the refrigerator takes some weight off the leveling legs. This
makes it easier to adjust the legs.
3. If it is not level, adjust the front leveling legs until the
refrigerator is level. Using a screwdriver, turn the leg
counterclockwise to extend the leg and raise the
refrigerator at that point. Turn the leg clockwise to retract
the leg and lower the refrigerator at that point.
It may take several turns of the leveling leg to adjust
the tilt of the refrigerator.
4. Open the refrigerator doors and freezer door again and
check to make sure that they close easily. If not, tilt
the refrigerator slightly more to the rear by turning both
leveling legs clockwise.
It may take several more turns, and you should turn both
leveling legs the same.
5. Readjust if necessary.
