Small flies and flying biting insects are attracted to ultra-violet light.
On their way to the lamp, the insects fly into an electrified grid and are killed
instantly, and hygienically. They then fall into a removable tray at the bottom of the
PROF-40 (GC1-40). (fig. 4).
OPERATION
Hang or lift your appliance never by the cord, use the supplied suspension chain
(Figure 2).
A generally good place to hang the PROF-40 (GC1-40) is 1.5 to 3 meters above the
floor. The ultra-violet light attracts flying insects, so don’t hang it near other sources
of light.
The darkest place gives the best result. Also make sure that there are no obstacles
in the insects’ flying route towards the lamp. Hang the PROF-40 (GC1-40) always
at a certain distance from people or food, so that you do not give them a change to
come near. Keep windows and doors closed as much as possible.
Do not place the PROF-40 near an open window or door or in a damp or wet area.
PLACEMENT (FOR INDOOR USE ONLY)
Before cleaning switch off and disconnect from the wall socket.
Discharge static electricity prior to cleaning or replacing lamp, by touching the grid
with an insulated screwdriver.
Dead insects can be removed from the grate and the lamp with a small brush.
Soapsuds can also be used for cleaning (most household cleaning products are
suitable). Use a damp cloth to clean the unit, NEVER dip it in water.
Empty the removable tray on the underside regularly (fig. 4).

Before replacing a lamp switch off and disconnect from the wall socket.
The special purpose lamp last for approximately for 5,000 hours.
This mostly means that it has to be changed every two years.
The fluorescent ultraviolet lamp in the PROF-40 is designed for maximum attraction
to flying insects. Do not replace with normal lamps, the wavelength being different,
will be ineffective in attracting the insects.
