Selecting the character set
Automatic switchover of the character set is defined in the DVB stan-
dard. Unfortunately not all broadcasting stations keep to this stan-
dardization, so that characters from an incorrect character set can ap-
pear in a text.
Automatic character set switchover is provided in the receiver, but dif-
ferent character sets can be set permanently as required, so that for
instance a Greek text can be displayed in the correct character set
and is thus legible.
Selection: {Auto} {Standard} {Latin} {Cyrillic} {Arabic} {Greek} {He-
brew}
Signal paths
The individual fields are activated and changed in the customary
manner.
Select the desired input field {XYZ} with [0]-[9] or [

]/[

] and activate
with [OK].
The parameters are set with the [

] or [
▲
] buttons.
The selection is concluded with [OK].

If {ON} is selected, the video and audio signals are forwarded from the
TV socket to the VCR socket also in stand-by mode.
A lower power consumption of approx. 0.5 watts is achieved in the
{OFF} position.
VCR signal
INPUT
In VCR playback you can choose between {CBVS/RGB} or
{YC} = S video for the connection of a S-VHS video recorder.
Picture format
All programmes are displayed in 4:3 format with the setting {4:3}.
With the setting {16:9}, programmes that are transmitted in broadband
format and for which the corresponding code is also transmitted are
switched over automatically to 16:9 display.
