1.2. Disassembling the middle-wheel
Step1.
The middle wheels are the driving
wheels between the front and rear wheels.
Turn off the main power from the control
panel first.
Step2.
Tilt the chassis and use a lifting jack
or wooden block to lift the wheelchair up in
order to lift the wheels off the ground.
Step3.
Take away the cover plate (1) of the
middle wheel.
Step4.
Loosen the three round head bolts
(2) on the wheel rim.
When loosening the three bolts (2) on the
wheel rim, make sure that the wheelchair
is not in the freewheel mode, otherwise
the wheels will start to rotate.
Do not loosen the central hub bolt (3) to
remove the middle wheel.
(Starting by Serial number MP20-000357, we have
added LOCTITE 680 onto the motor axle of
Morgan.)
Step5.
Use a torque wrench to tighten the
three screws (2) on the wheel rim.
Step6.
Remove the screws on the motor
bracket (3) and remove the motor. Then
replace with the new one.
Step7.
To replace the drive motors, perform
these steps in reverse order.
Set screw torque: 240kgf-cm (24 Nm)
If the new motor
doesn’t include
hub, or any
particular reason you had disassembled motor
and hub, please add proper amount of Loctite
680 (Green) onto motor axle (4) first, then
assemble hub onto motor.
Set screw torque:
480kgf-cm (48 Nm)
