INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE IN AN EMERGENCY
1. Unfold the antenna and raise it to vertical
position.
2. Open and break the PLB upper cover.
3. Press ON.
• The beacon starts with a self-test then the green
led flashes every 2 seconds.
• A buzzer transmits an audible signal every
second.
4. Place beacon in horizontal position in a clear
area, ensure the antenna is in vertical position.
Important: After activation, the user shall make
every effort to keep the beacon out of the water,
avoid any retention of water on the antenna and
keep the beacon oriented so that the antenna
has an unobstructed view of the sky. The user
should keep his hand away from the antenna
and GPS antenna side.
It is recommended to operate beacon in an
open space area. Do not attempt to operate
inside liferaft or under any similar cover or
canopy or inside a vehicle.
5. Stop: Lift lower cover up and press TEST.
