2. Using the Kanguru SonicSTOR
Connecting the drive:
Please note:
Connecting both USB 2.0 and SATA simultaneously, the SATA
port will have priority over the USB 2.0 port.
1. If your computer is not turned on, please do so at this time and wait for
your operating system to load.
2. Connect the included AC power supply and USB or eSATA cable to the
Kanguru SonicSTOR, power the drive on and plug it into any available
USB or eSATA port on your computer.
3. Windows 98 Users ONLY:
Your operating system will ask you to locate
the drivers for this device. They are located on the mini CD included with
your drive. To install these driver files, simply direct Windows 98 to that
folder or select to search your CD-Rom drive for these files. The
installation wizard should select these driver files automatically and
complete the installation. A reboot is required for Windows 98 to recognize
the drive after the installation is complete.
4. Check to make sure the drive is recognized by your system. Under “My
Computer” you should find a new “
Local Disk
” drive as seen below.
Please Note:
The assigned drive letter may vary from computer to
computer.
5. Once the computer has detected the drive, you can begin transferring data
to the drive.
Please Note:
When the drive is connected via SATA, the drive access
light will not blink when data is being transferred.
Removing the tray:
Please note:
It is not necessary to unplug the drive from the computer to swap
drive trays.
1. To remove the tray from the aluminum housing, insert the included key in
the lock hole to unlock the handle.
