7.2 Gasket Maintenance
Periodically check the door (Upright Models), or lid gasket (Chest Models) for
punctures, tears, or any other imperfections. Leaks appear as streaks of frost which
form at the point of gasket failure.
7.3 Defrosting
To defrost the freezer:
1.
Empty the freezer.
2.
Turn off the unit and allow the interior to warm to room temperature. This is

3.
Allow all ice to melt and remove all the water from the bottom of the cabinet.
Dry the interior with a towel.
Should there be an odor in the freezer, wash the interior with a solution of baking soda
and warm water. Clean the exterior with any common household cleaning wax.
Do not use detergents to clean the cabinet interior or exterior
.
Do not use any hard scraper to remove frost from the cabinet interior.
