
9 Fault Recognition and Rectification
9.1 Basic instructions
The alarm indications valid for your machine are dependent on the individual equipment.
1. Do not attempt fault rectification measures other than those given in this manual!
2. In all other cases:
have the fault rectified by an authorised KAESER SERVICE representative.
9.2 Faults
Fault
Possible cause
Remedy
Machine does not start.
Fuse blown or circuit breaker
tripped.
Check motor connections and
fuses (circuit breakers).
Defective pressure switch con‐
tact.
Replace the pressure switch.
Motor overload protection has
tripped.
Allow the motor to cool down.
Compressor motor defective:
Bearing damage or winding
short-circuit.
Call KAESER SERVICE.
Compressor block defective.
Call KAESER SERVICE.
Undervoltage trip in the user's
pressure switch of the oil level
indication (option C5) activated.
Check undervoltage trip in the
pressure switch. Switch on the
compressor at the pressure
switch.
Machine starts with difficulty.
The solenoid valve is not open‐
ing.
Check the connection to the
solenoid valve.
Replace the solenoid valve.
Venting valve on the user's
pressure switch not opening.
Maintain or replace the unload‐
ing valve.
Bearing damage.
Call KAESER SERVICE.
Piston seized due to insufficient
or incorrect oil.
Call KAESER SERVICE.
Fault in the power supply.
Check power supply.
Oil level too high.
Drain out some oil.
