1 Audio format indicators
Indicates the format of audio currently being played
back.
2 Disc indicator
Indicates the type of the disc set in the tray. When a
DVD VIDEO disc is set, DVD lights up. When a
Video CD disc is set, VCD lights up. When an Audio
CD is set, CD lights up.
3 3 (play)/8 (pause) indicators
3 or 8 illuminates during playback or while paused,
respectively.
Neither of them illuminates while stopped.
4 Title/track/chapter indicators
One or more appropriate indicators illuminate
according to the disc inserted.
5 Repeat mode indicators
The appropriate indicator illuminates according to the
current repeat mode.
6 PROGRAM/RANDOM indicators
The appropriate indicator illuminates while the unit
is in the Program or Random playback mode.
7 Multi-information window
Displays the current title/track/chapter number(s),
time and status information.

1 DIGITAL OUT jack(s) (OPTICAL/COAXIAL) (17)
Outputs digital audio signals. You must select the
signal type correctly according to the external device
connected to via the Preference display. Both the
OPTICAL and COAXIAL connectors are provided.
2 VIDEO OUT - VIDEO jack (14)
Outputs a composite video signal.
3 VIDEO OUT - COMPONENT jacks (Y/P

Output component video signals.
These jacks can output the Progressive scan signals as
well as the conventional Interlace scan signals.

4 Region code label (13)
Indicates the region code of the unit.
5 AUDIO OUT jacks (RIGHT/LEFT) (14, 15)
Outputs stereo analog audio signals.
6 VIDEO OUT - S-VIDEO jack (14)
Outputs an S-video signal.
7 VIDEO OUT SELECT switch (NTSC/PAL) (15)
Selects NTSC or PAL to match the color
system of your TV. Note that the unit power must
be off (on standby) when you change the switch
position. Otherwise, the changed setting will not be
effective.
8 AV COMPU LINK jacks (53)
Connects with other JVC equipment supporting
the AV Compulink function to facilitate integrated
operations.

AC IN connector (18)
Connects to the wall outlet using the suppplied AC
power cord.
