Sound and monitor settings
Selecting a sound mode
You can select a preset sound mode suitable to the
music genre.
• Preset value for each sound mode is as follows:

• Sound mode is automatically canceled (“
EQ OFF
” is
selected) in the following cases:
– When activating/deactivating loudness (see
“Activating loudness” below).
– When adjusting bass/treble setting (see “Adjusting
the sound settings” on the right column).
Activating loudness
You can boost low and high frequencies to produce a
well-balanced sound at low volume level.
Loudness is activated and “
LOUD ON
” appears on
the display.
To cancel loudness, press the button again. “
LOUD
OFF
” appears on the display.
Adjusting the sound settings
You can adjust the sound characteristics to your
preference.

Adjusts the volume. (0 to 50)
BAS
Adjusts the bass. (–6 to +6)
TRE
Adjusts the treble. (–6 to +6)
BAL
Adjusts the left and right speaker balance.
(L6 to R6)
FAD

Adjusts the front and rear speaker balance.
(R6 to F6)

Adjusts the output level of the external

Selecting the color system
Select the appropriate color system according to the
type of the monitor connected.
While playing a VCD...
The setting appears on the monitor.

For the PAL monitor

For the NTSC monitor
PAL60
For watching an NTSC disc on a PAL monitor
AUTO
Automatically selects the appropriate color
system.
