B. SelecCng A Video Recording Format

This camera records in both NTSC and PAL video formats.

It records in both “full” HD image sizes and also with an

“anamorphic” image size.

All formats are recorded using the XDCAM codec. This is a

very stable MPEG 2 format but you cannot view the XDCAM

ﬁles on a computer without ediCng sokware or the Sony

XDCAM viewer installed. iMovie is not suﬃcient. You will need

Premiere, Final Cut, AVID, Sony Vegas or something similar

installed. The Sony XDCAM viewer is available from the Sony

Professional website. It is a free download.
