Auto Mode Lock
Locks the camcorder in Full Auto mode, preventing
incorrect operation due to accidental button
pressing during shooting.
• In this mode the following controls are disabled;
Fade/Wipe, Wide, Title, Display, M.W.B. (Manual
White Balance), Manual Focus, Focus Lock,
Exposure Control and MENU.
Auto Mode Release
Re-enables the controls that were disabled by Auto
Mode Lock.
180X Digital Zoom
Boosts the maximum zoom magnification to
approx. 180x.
• Snapshot (
Z
pg. 14), Dissolve and Auto Select in
Fade/Wipe (
Z
pg. 23) do not function.
Strobe
Freezes images in rapid succession.
Classic Film
A strobe effect that gives the black and white
picture a “flickery” effect like an old movie.
Twilight
Dusk, twilight scenery, fireworks, etc., look more
natural and dramatic. The following happens when
Twilight mode is selected:
• Auto gain control is turned off.
• White Balance is set to “
” (outdoor mode), but
can also be manually changed to another mode
(
Z
pg. 27).
• Auto Focus becomes available only in the range of
10 m to infinity. To focus when the subject-to-
camera distance is less than 10 m, use manual
focusing (
Z
pg. 19).

Slow Shutter
Sets the shutter speed to 1/12.5 sec. and boosts the
sensitivity so that the camcorder can record subjects
even in virtual darkness.
•Use it only in dark locations.
•The picture flickers like a quick strobe.
Sports
High shutter speed clearly captures fast-moving
action.
High-Speed Shutter (1/2000s.)
Captures faster action than Sports mode.

When the Classic Film effects are activated,
manual white balance adjustment (

not possible.

When Slow Shutter is activated, Auto Focus may
not work properly.

When Slow Shutter is activated, bright spots may
appear on the screen. This is not a camcorder
malfunction.
●
Certain effects cannot be used together with other
functions. When an effect not usable in the
present situation is selected, its indicator blinks.
●
Snapshot (
Z
pg. 14), Dissolve and Auto Select in
Fade/Wipe (

pg. 23) do not function when
programme AE is set to 180x.
