Web pages can be opened without encryption (http://...) or with
encryption (https://...). As the integrated web browser is not intended
for security-relevant applications, such as online banking, the
certificates of the opened web pages are not checked during
transmission without encryption.
The Smart Control IP internally checks the function of the network
interface at regular intervals. If a fault is detected, an error message
is displayed and an attempt is made to restore the network
connection. If the fault persists, the device performs a restart, in
order to reinitialise the network interface.

It is necessary to synchronise the internal clock for the screen display
and the timer function. This can take place either using a network
server via UDP or by manual input in the web interface.
If the "Transmit time" function is activated, the Smart Control IP
transmits its current time regularly in the set format as text via UDP.
The complete UDP command to send or to receive the current time
has the format:
"%HH%:%MM%:%SS%\n" or "%HH%.%MM%.%SS%\n"
