MAINTENANCE
Rectify any problems with freezing
• In the event of freezing use a lock spray or pour a plastic bag full of hot water on the lock to thaw it.
• Spray silicone spray between the door and lock knob to prevent freezing against the door.
• In case of repeated freezing, loosen the lock and apply silicone grease to the lock.
• If moisture has entered the lock, dismantle the lock and place it in the oven at a low heat setting
(50–75°) for about half an hour. Let the lock cool before lubricating.
Maintenance of the lock extends its life
• Lubricate the lock a few times a year. Locks that are used frequently or are exposed to extreme
weather conditions may need to be lubricated more often.
• Also take the opportunity to lubricate the lock cylinder at the same time. A good time is before
the winter when lubrication also prevents condensation and ice forming
