OPERATION
NOTE!
The kettle must be plugged into an earthed power outlet.
1.
Before using for the first time: fill the kettle with clean water and boil. Pour the water away. The
kettle is now ready for use.
2.
The kettle must always be disconnected from the mains during filling.
3.
Fill to the required level. Do not fill with less than 0.5 litres (up to the min. level). Do not fill with
more than 1.7 litres (up to the max. level).
4.
Plug the power cord into an earthed power outlet.
5.
Turn on the power switch.
6.
The kettle switches off automatically when the water has boiled.
7.
Do not remove the kettle from the base without switching it off first.
The kettle has built-in overheat protection. This can trip if too little water is to be boiled (less than 0.5
litres). If it trips, switch off the kettle and wait for 5-10 minutes. It will reset automatically.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Do not immerse the kettle in water or any other liquid.
The kettle must not be connected to the mains supply when carrying out maintenance.
Clean the outside of the kettle with a sponge, soaked in water and washing-up liquid. Do not use an
abrasive sponge or cleaning agents. Never immerse the kettle in liquids.
After a period of use lime deposits form in the kettle, especially around the heating element. This reduces
the output. The lime is not dangerous, but can leave a taste in the water. Remove the lime in the kettle at
regular intervals:
1.
Fill the kettle with 1 litre of water. Boil until the kettle switches off automatically.
2.
Unplug from the wall socket and remove the kettle from its base plate.
3.
Carefully add 50 mg of citric acid. Do not use a higher concentration.
4.
When the deposits have dissolved, empty the contents and clean the inside with clean water.
