TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING:
Always turn off the tool and disconnect the power cord from the mains power before making
adjustments, performing maintenance on and cleaning the tool.
Problem
Possible cause

The saw blade is loose
when the motor is
turned off.
The lock nut is not correctly tightened. Tighten the lock nut (M20, left-hand
thread).
The motor will not start. The fuse has tripped.
Fault in the extension cord.
Fault in connections in motor or power
switch.
Check the fuse and reset or replace it
if necessary.
See the section on extension cords.
Ask a qualified electrician to check
and repair the tool.
The motor is turned off
automatically.
The overheating protection has
tripped as a result of the saw blade
being dull.
Install a sharp saw blade. The motor
may be started again once it has
cooled.
Burn marks on the
workpiece.
The lock nut is not correctly tightened.
Unsuitable saw blade.
Longitudinal fence incorrectly
adjusted.
Jig incorrectly adjusted.
Install a sharp saw blade.
Install a saw blade with 20 or 28 teeth
for cleaving.
Replace the longitudinal fence.
Adjust the jig.
