SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use!
Workplace
•
Keep the work area clean and well lit. Untidy work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
•
Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids,
gases or dust. The tool can produce sparks that can ignite dust and fumes.
•
Keep children, onlookers and other unauthorised persons at a safe distance from the work area.
You can easily lose control of the tool if you are distracted.
Electrical safety
•
Machines with double insulation have a polarised plug (one prong is wider than the other). This
plug only fits one way in a polarised outlet socket. Reverse the plug if it does not fit in the outlet
socket. If it still does not fit, get a service technician to install a polarised outlet socket. The plug
must not be modified in any way. The double insulation eliminates the need for a grounded plug
with three conductors and a grounded mains supply.
•
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and
refrigerators. You can receive an electric shock if you come in contact with such objects.
•
Do not expose power tools to rain or other wet conditions. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if water or moisture enters the tool.
•
Handle the power cord with care. Never use the power cord for carrying or hanging up the machine
or for pulling it out of the socket. Always hold the plug to remove it.
•
Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving machine parts.
•
Immediately replace damaged power cords to avoid risk of electric shock.
•
Do not use the impact wrench if the power cord or plug is damaged in any way. For safety reasons,
the power cord may only be replaced or repaired by an authorised service centre. Consult your
dealer.
•
When working outdoors, only use extension cords designed and intended for this purpose.
Personal safety
•
Pay attention to what you are doing and use your common sense when using power tools.
•
Never use power tools if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention when using a power tool can result in serious personal injury.
•
Wear proper work clothes. Loose-fitting clothing and jewellery can get caught in moving parts.
Wear a hair net if you have long hair.
•
Avoid accidental starting. Always make sure the power switch on the machine is in the OFF
position before connecting it to the mains power. Carrying a power tool with your finger on the
trigger or connecting a tool to the mains supply when the switch is in the ON position increases the
risk of accidents and injuries.
•
Remove spanners and other assembling tools from the machine before starting it. A tool left
attached to a rotating machine part may result in personal injury.
•
Keep a firm footing and a proper balance at all times. This will ensure you have better control over
the tool in unexpected situations
•
Always wear ear and eye protection. Respiratory protection, non-slip footwear or a safety helmet
must also be used if the work so demands.
Power tool maintenance
•
Use clamps, a vice or other suitable tools to clamp the workpiece. Do not hold the workpiece in
your hand or against your body as this is unstable and can result in a loss of control.
•
Use the right machine for the right job. The machine does the job better and safer when used at the
speed and rate for which it was designed.
•
Do not use the machine if the power switch cannot be turned on or off. Repair the machine before it
is used.
•
Unplug from the mains supply before making any adjustments, changing accessories or putting the
power tool away. This minimises the risk of accidental starting.
•
Keep the tool out of the reach of children and other unauthorised persons. Power tools are
dangerous if you do not know how to use them.
