5-2. needle thread clamp device
By actuatng the needle thread clamp devce, trouble of sewng at the hgh-speed start (needle thread
slp-off, sttch skppng or needle thread stan) s prevented, and can reduce gatherng (brd's nest) of
needle thread on the wrong sde of cloth whle keepng stable sewng. Needle thread clamp devce
operates n the state that thread clamp dsplay LED s lt, and does not operate when t goes off. When
mountng the IP-410, changeover of moton ON/OFF s performed wth
key, and when mountng
the CP-20 , changeover of moton ON/OFF s performed wth
key respectvely. When the needle
thread clamp devce s OFF, the machne automatcally operates at slow-start.
When memory switch no. 35 is "1" (prohibited), the thread clamp does not work. In addi-
tion,
and
key is ineffective.
For the thread clamp unt, there are S type and H type n accordance wth the sewng types. Refer the
respectve types and the contents of the memory swtches that can be set to the lst below.

Change the set value of memory swtch U69 n accordance wth the thckness of needle thread. The set
value has been set to 1 : H type thn thread at the tme of delvery. Commendable value s Set value : 1
for thread count #50 to #8, and that s Set value : 3 for thread count #5 to #2. (The value wll change n
accordance wth the knd and thckness of the actual thread and the knds of materals to be sewn.) Set
the value by adjustng to the state of needle thread on the wrong sde of materals.
In addton, t s possble to select the thread clamp poston by means of memory swtch U70. When
usng thck thread of thread count #5 to #2, and rollng-n or tuckng at the start of sewng occurs, set the
set value to 1 : Rear and use the machne.
use the set value of the memory switch which is adjusted to the thread clamp unit type.
(For s type thread clamp unit, the set value of u69 and u70 can use nothing but only "0".
When the setting is wrong, the thread clamp fails to properly function. so, be careful.
