8.2.5 Cutting the dosing lance to length
With a pipe diameter of > 70 mm, the dosing units included in the scope of supply do no longer
fit (only up to DN 50). In such cases, the dosing unit is installed in accordance with the
following assembly instructions.
 Measure length L of the dosing lance (2) so
that the tip of the dosing lance at the dosing
point projects into the pipe (1) by a length
equal to about 1/3 of pipe diameter D.

Using a pipe cutter, cut the supplied dosing
lance (2) to the required length L.

Before installing, deburr the edges of the
cut pipe. See assembly instructions for the
dosing unit.
There are different ways of installing the
dosing lance (e.g. using a T-piece or
saddle directly on the pipe). A threaded
connection G ½“ and the dosing lance cut
to length are required.

Install the dosing lance downstream of the
flow meter in the drinking water supply
network.
 Make sure not to overtighten the
G ½“ plastic threaded connection of the
dosing lance.

Wind a Teflon tape around the dosing lance
thread and carefully screw it in as far as
the stop in the dosing unit connection.
