Wall Thermostat Installation

Use Jøtul Thermostat #129706 or a

 to automatically control

your fireplace operation. The thermostat should be
placed in the same room as the heater, typically 5’
off the floor.  Avoid drafty areas or any area that may
affect the accuracy of the thermostat.

The thermostat should be connected to the

Acadia using a minimum of 16 gauge wire with  a
maximum length of 35 feet of wire.

Connect the two thermostat wire leads to the

two lower terminals on the terminal block located to
the right of the ON/OFF/T’STAT switch. Do not
overtighten the connections.  IT IS NOT NECESSARY
TO DISCONNECT ANY OTHER WIRES. See Figure 34.

At the thermostat, the two wires should be

connected to the two connections screw on the
thermostat base plate per the manufacturer’s
instructions.

For thermostatic function, place the ON/OFF/T-

STAT switch in the T-STAT position and the pilot
flame must be lit.

Remote Control

The optional Jøtul Remote Control can be installed
on the Acadia gas fireplace.  Using the wire supplied
with the remote, connect the remote directly to the
gas control valve. See fig. 36

Connect one receiver lead to the terminal

labelled TH.  Connect the other receiver lead to the
terminal labeled TH/TP.  DO NOT DISCONNECT ANY
OTHER WIRES FROM THE VALVE, AND DO NOT OVER
TIGHTEN THE TERMINAL SCREWS.

Place the receiver unit under the control valve

on the floor of the fireplace cabinet.
