After coupling up,
the following mes-
sage appears:
To open the fifth
wheel coupling
The fifth wheel
coupling is not
locked or no lock
is detected.
The coupling is not closing or not
closing completely.
Carry out a functional check of the fifth wheel coupling
(see Section 5.2 and the installation and operating
instructions for JSK 36/JSK 37 and JSK 40/JSK 42,
Section 3 "Operation" and Section 4 "Maintenance and
testing" on the JOST website at www.jost-world.com).
Check the magnet and sensor on the fifth wheel coupling
handle (see Section 5.2 and 5.3.1).
Replace worn and faulty components (see Section 6 and
repair instructions JSK 36/JSK 37 and JSK 40/JSK 42 on
the JOST website at www.jost-world.com).
Locking sensor cannot be switched. Check the magnet and sensor on the fifth wheel coupling
handle (see Section 5.2 and 5.3.1).
Replace worn and faulty components (see Section 5 and
repair instructions JSK 36/JSK 37 and JSK 40/JSK 42 on
the JOST website at www.jost-world.com).
Locking sensor or supply line
(cable) to the sensor faulty.
Check the sensor, cable and handle or trap for damage
(see Section 5.2).
Carry out a functional check of the sensor (see Section
5.3.1).
After coupling up or
on driving off, the
following message
appears:
To check the
fifth wheel
coupling
Check the fifth wheel
coupling and open it
if necessary.
Fifth wheel coupling
locked or locking
detected, but no
kingpin detected.
Wear on the lock and/or the
kingpins too excessive.
Check the wear dimensions on the fifth wheel coupling
and if necessary the semi-trailer (see Section 5.2 and the
installation and operating instructions for JSK 36/JSK 37
and JSK 40/JSK 42, Section 3 "Operation" and Section 4
"Maintenance and testing" on the JOST website at
www.jost-world.com).
Replace worn and faulty components. Adjust the fifth wheel
coupling's locking play (see Section 6 and repair instruc-
tions JSK 36/37 and JSK 40/JSK 42 on the JOST website
at www.jost-world.com).
Kingpin sensor setting not correct.
Adjust the kingpin sensor as per the repair instructions
(see Section 6).
Sensor or supply line (cable) to the
sensor faulty.
Check the sensor and cable for damage (see Section 5.2).
Carry out a functional check of the kingpin sensor
(see Section 5.3.2).
Replace worn and faulty components (see Section 5).
The sensor's functional surface is
badly soiled with deposits.
Clean the sensor's functional surface (see Section 5.2).
The following mes-
sage is displayed:
Fifth wheel
coupling
sensing faulty
Clean the sensor.
The status of the sen-
sor-enabled fifth
wheel coupling is not
being recognised cor-
rectly.
One or more of the fifth wheel
coupling sensors did not switch or
are permanently switched, e.g. as
a result of contamination with metal
wear in front of the sensors' func-
tional surfaces.
Clean the functional surface of the kingpin sensor and
semi-trailer detection sensor (see Section 5.2).
Clean the sensor or
check the fifth wheel
coupling!
Or check the semi-
trailer sensor!
Or check the fifth
wheel kingpin!
Sensor or supply line (cable) to the
kingpin or semi-trailer detection
sensor faulty.
Check the sensor and cable for damage (see Section 5.2).
Check the sensor function (see section 5.3).
Renew worn and defective components
(see Section 6).
Check the fifth wheel
coupling sensor!
Locking sensor or supply line
(cable) to the sensor faulty.
Check the sensor and cable for damage (see Section 5.2).
Carry out a functional check of the kingpin sensor
(see Section 5.3.2).
Replace worn and faulty components (see Section 6).
