Cloth Link Bumpers

Normally the Jo Jo Wings canopies comes with soft links.
If you like to use metal links with slider bumpers please
check cloth slider bumper position.
It must protect slider grommet from link damage.

Slider Preparation

On many canopies there is a way to stow the slider for increased performance during flight.  The
stow method could be a drawstring, tie strap or even a small piece of Velcro on the slider. All of
these methods (and others) stop the slider from flapping, make it quiet and improve the glide slightly.
It is very important that the slider be unstowed before packing, regardless of the method used.  Fail-
ure to do so may result in an excessively hard opening, canopy damage, malfunction, and/or severe
injuries to the pilot.

Folding the Canopy

1)

Crouch next  to the risers and face your

canopy. Slip fingers of your left hand be-
tween the left-hand  risers and between the
left-hand steering line and risers. Do the
same with your right hand on the right side.
The idea is to separate each line group and
steering line. Grasp the lines as shown. Be
sure there are no twists in the risers.  Start
moving up the lines, allowing them to slide
between your fingers.  Push the slider ahead
until you reach the bottom of the canopy.

2)

At  this  point you can determine if your

canopy and lines are straight.  If there are
twists in the lines, this means your rig
“looped”  through your risers at some point.
To fix this, drop the lines,  stretch the canopy
and lines out again and straighten the entan-
glement out.  Get help from a  rigger if you
have any questions.  Do a line check again
to make sure you have done it correctly.
