Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tool, or pull the plug
from an outlet. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Replace damaged cords immediately.
Damaged cords increase the risk of electric
shock.
•
When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord marked
“W-A” or “W”.
These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric
shock.
•
Replace damaged cords immediately. Use of damaged cords can shock, burn or
electrocute.
•
If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with adequate size conductors should be
used to prevent excessive voltage drop, loss of power or overheating. The table
shows the correct size to use, depending on cord length and nameplate amperage
rating of tool. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. Always use UL and CSA listed
extension cords.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR RECIPROCATING SAW
WARNING:
To avoid injury, hold the tool by the insulated gripping surfaces only. If
the tool contacts hidden wiring or its own cord, exposed metal parts of the tool could
shock the operator and causes serious injury. Make sure hidden electrical wiring, water
pipes, or other hazards are not in the cutting path.
•
IF
YOU ARE NOT
thoroughly familiar with the operation of a reciprocating saw,
obtain advice from a qualified person.
•
The reciprocating saw is double insulated. When servicing, use only identical
replacement parts.
•
Avoid cutting nails.
Inspect the workpiece carefully and remove all nails and
staples before operation.
•
Make sure the blade always extends
beyond the shoe and workpiece throughout
the stroke. Blades may shatter if they strike the workpiece or shoe.
•
Do not cut oversized workpiece.
•
Check for proper clearance
beyond the workpiece before cutting so the blade will
not strike the floor, workbench, etc.
•
Make sure the blade
is not contacting the workpiece before the switch is turned on.
•
Keep the saw blades clean and sharp.
•
Use only correct blades.
Always use blades recommended for the type of
workpiece.
