TRAVELING (DRIVING)
NOTE:
For units equipped with optional tilt cutout, verify that the drive
function is cut out when the boom is elevated and tilt alarm is
activated.
NOTE:
When lower boom is raised above horizontal, or the upper boom
is raised approximately 16 inches (40.6 cm) above boom rest, the
high drive function will automatically be in low drive.
IF THE MACHINE IS OPERATED AT A VERY SLOW SPEED OR STALLED WHEN CLIMBING A
GRADE OF 20% OR GREATER, DRIVE FUNCTION WILL STOP. REMOVE FOOT FROM
FOOT-SWITCH, AND DEPRESS FOOTSWITCH TO RESET.
DO NOT DRIVE WITH BOOM ABOVE HORIZONTAL EXCEPT ON A SMOOTH, FIRM SUR
-
FACE WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE MAXIMUM OPERATING SLOPE.
TO AVOID LOSS OF TRAVEL CONTROL OR TIP OVER ON GRADES AND SIDE SLOPES, DO
NOT DRIVE MACHINE ON GRADES EXCEEDING THOSE SPECIFIED IN THE OPERATING
SPECIFICATIONS SECTION OF THIS MANUAL.
DO NOT DRIVE ON SIDESLOPES WHICH EXCEED 3 DEGREES.
USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE AND AT ALL TIMES WHEN DRIV
-
ING WITH PLATFORM ELEVATED.
BEFORE DRIVING, LOCATE THE BLACK/WHITE ORIENTATION ARROWS ON BOTH THE
CHASSIS AND THE PLATFORM CONTROLS. MOVE THE DRIVE CONTROLS IN A DIREC
-
TION MATCHING THE DIRECTIONAL ARROWS FOR THE INTENDED DIRECTION OF
TRAVEL.
