SURFACE MOUNT INSTALLATION
1)Removethevehiclepanelandcheck
toensurethatthemountingscrews
willhaveadequateclearance.
2)Placethesurface-mountfixtureonthe
vehiclepanelatthedesiredmounting
locationandmarkthelocationofthetwo
mountingscrewholesandtheapproximate
centerofoneofthetworectangularcutouts
(forthewires).
3)Usinga1/16-inch(1.5mm)drillbit,drill
aholethroughthepanelatthetwoscrew
locations.
4)Usinga1/2-inch(12mm)drillbit,drillthe
holeforthetweeter’swiresatthelocationyou
markedinstep2.
5)Screwthesurfacemountfixturetothe
vehiclepanelusingthesupplied#6sheet
metalscrews(hand-tighten).
6)Feedthetweeterwiresthroughthe
rectangularholeinthemountingfixtureand
the1/2-inchholeyoudrilledinthepanel.
Then,snapthetweeterintothesurface
mountfixture.
7)Observingthecorrectpolarity,connectthe
tweeter’swirestothesuppliedharnesswith
thein-linehigh-passfilter.
8)Re-installthevehiclepanel,takingcareto
routethenewwiringsoasnottointerfere
withanyvehiclemechanisms(window
mechanisms,forexample).
WARNING
!!
It is absolutely vital that your component
tweeter is connected as shown in Diagram C.
Failure to connect the tweeter as shown will
result in damage which is NOT covered under
warranty. Only use in-line filters clearly
marked “C2-075cthp”.
FLUSH MOUNT INSTALLATION
1)Removethevehiclepanelandcheckto
ensurethatthereisatleast3/4inch(19mm)
clearancebehindthepanelforthetweeter’s
magnetstructure.
2)Carefullycuta1-9/16-inch(40mm)diameter
holeinthevehiclepanel.Thiswillachievea
snugfitandallowthetweeterflangetoconceal
thecutline.
3)Insertthetweeterfromthefrontofthepanel
(donotattachthespringclipatthistime).
4)Attachthespringclipfrombehind
thepanelusingthesupplied1/4
inch(6mm)machinescrew.
5)Tightenthescrewbyhanduntilthetweeteris
tightonthepanel.Donotovertighten.
6)Connectthetweeter’swirestothesupplied
harnesswiththein-linehigh-passfilter,
observingcorrectpolarity.
8)Re-installthevehiclepanel,takingcareto
routethenewwiringsoasnottointerfere
withanyvehiclemechanisms(window
mechanisms,forexample).
