Problem Possible Cause Correction *
Sawblade will not start
Machine unplugged. Check all plug connections.
Fuse blown, or circuit breaker
tripped.
Replace fuse, or reset circuit breaker.
Cord damaged.
Replace cord.
Transformer
Check that the correct voltages are present both on the input
and output. Otherwise replace.
Contactor
Check that all 3 phases are present both on the input and
output.
Check that it is not jammed, that it closes when powered and
that it is not causing short circuits. Replace if any of these
problems are found.
Thermal relay
Check that all 3 phases are present both on the input and
output.
Check that it responds when the reset coil is closed.
If it has tripped to protect the motor, check the amperage
setting, reset, and check the motor. Replace if necessary.
Blade guard not closed Close the guard

Motor
Check that motor windings have not burnt, that they measure
the same resistance between all phases.
Check that the motor turns freely.
Check that there is no moisture in the connection terminal
box.
The winding can be rewound or motor be replaced.
Belt Check that belt is in good condition and properly tensioned
