Disassembly/Reassembly VEGA™ Series Banknote Validator Section 4
Feed and Stacker Motor Removal
To remove the VEGA Unit’s Feed and Stacker
Motors, proceed as follows:
1. Remove the three (3) Mounting Screws (Figure 4-
16 a

through a
3
) retaining the Transport Gear
Box Assembly (Figure 4-16 b ) to the Lower
Transport Assembly (Figure 4-16 c ), and lift the
Transport Gear Box Assembly up and off the
Lower Transport Unit.
2. Remove the three (3) Mounting Screws (Figure 4-
16 d

through d

) retaining the Stacker Gear Box
Assembly (Figure 4-16 e ) to the Lower Transport
Unit, and lift the Stacker Gear Box Assembly up
and off the Lower Transport Unit.
3. Remove the two (2) Mounting Screws (Figure 4-
17 a
1
& a
2
) retaining the Stacker Motor (Figure 4-
17 b ) to Stacker Gear Box Assembly (Figure 4-17
c ) and remove the Stacker Motor out of the
Stacker Gear Box.
Sub-Sensor Circuit Board
Removal
To remove the VEGA Unit’s Sub-Sensor Circuit
Board, proceed as follows:
1. Unplug the single (1) Circuit Board Connector
(Figure 4-18 a ) attached to the Sub-Sensor Board
(Figure 4-18 b ).
2. Lift the Sub-Sensor Circuit Board and off the
Lower Transport Unit (Figure 4-18 c ).
Lower Sensor Circuit Board
Removal
To remove the VEGA Unit’s Lower Sensor Circuit
Board, proceed as follows:
1. Remove the two (2) Mounting Screws (Figure 4-
19 a

& a
2
) retaining the Lower Sensor Board
(Figure 4-19 b ) to the Carrier Base (Figure 4-19
c ); then unplug the single (1) Circuit Board Con-
nector (Figure 4-19 d ).

NOTE: Both Gear Box Assemblies are
identical. When reassembling the Gear Box
Assemblies, identify the Gears by the
labels located on each Box. Yellow label is
located on the Stacker Motor Housing
(Figure 4-16

located on the Feed Motor Housing (Figure
4-16
g ).
