Wifi Bridge
Thank you for choosing the Wifi Bridge. The Wifi Bridge makes it possible to control
lighting, electric blinds as well as other appliances by any smartphone, tablet and PC.
The main features of the Wifi Bridge are:
•
There is no app required, a browser is sufficient.
•
Because of wireless connection the Bridge can be placed anywhere within the
house. This solves the classical range problem of many RF bus installations.
•
Multiple Wifi Bridges can be used within one system.
•
The web interface can be modified by users with simple HTML knowledge.
•
The device works fully autarkic, no PC connection required.
•
Power consumption is extremely low (ca. 0.35 Watts), which makes
continuous operation uncritical.
•
An integrated temperature module informs about current room temperature.
•
The web interface is generated automatically by press of a button.
•
The hardware basis, which includes 2 megabyte of fully available flash
memory for web data, allows extensive configurations. Ideal for professional
use.

Requirements
To use the Wifi Bridge a Light-Manager is required. The Bridge is compatible with the
Light-Manager Mini, Pro, Pro+ as well as the Light-Manager Pro and Pro+ for Bang &
Olufsen
®
.
The Bridge will be placed next to the Light-Manager. The devices connect wirelessly
by infrared, a cable is not necessary. The Light-Manager can still be controlled by an
infrared remote control. The use of other remote controls (TV, Hifi…) is not affected.
Wifi compatibility
The bridge supports Wifi networks of the standards 802.11 b, b/g and b/g/n. The
encryption types WEP, WPA and WPA2 are supported, as well as open networks. Also
the Bridge supports ad-hoc mode, which is a router-less direct connection between
devices. This mode is supported by laptops and iOS devices, Android does not support
it so far. Ad-hoc is mainly used for configuration, but it can be used for standard
operation, too.
Important:
The use or pure 802.11 g or 802.11 n networks is not possible
resp. only in conjunction with very few routers. We recommend using mixed
mode, where 802.11
b
is included.
Important:
It is recommended to use WPA2 only mode, not WPA + WPA2. Especially
on the Fritz!Box the WPA + WPA2 mode can cause that the Bridge will not connect.
There are only very few devices requiring the unsafe and outdated WPA mode
anymore anyway.
