STEP 7:
Drill and install the mast safety bolt. The purpose of this
bolt is to prevent the board and height adjuster from sliding off
the mast if the u-bolts were ever to loosen. Failure to install the
safety bolt may result in damage, injury, and/or death.
STEP 8:
Install rim and edge padding if equipped.
STEP 9:
To maximize the stability of the unit, the four nylon bolts
should be adjusted as needed. Use caution when tightening and
be sure not to over-tighten these bolts or the height adjuster may
incur undue stain.
STEP 10:
Operate and test the height adjuster multiple times to
ensure smooth operation using the hand crank supplied. Test to
ensure the height adjuster achieves the 8' AFF and 10' AFF
elevation as intended. Ensure the height adjuster is properly
lubricated on the ACME rod and slide tubes.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE:
Inspect the height adjuster for excessive wear or misalignment.
Inspect all hardware for looseness. Lubricate the 3/4" ACME
thread rod with Never-Seez Black Moly Lubricant. Lubricate the
sliding outer frames with an aerosol dry film lubricant available at
your local hardware store. Lubrication should be done at least
once a year and more frequently at heavy use facilities (such as
pay-to-play facilities). For general public school use, annual
maintenance and inspection is sufficient.
Keep a working log of all the service and inspections done to
your equipment. Proof of service and inspection will be required
for any equipment being replaced or repaired under warranty.
