plumbing bypass valves so no water or antifreeze will enter the water heater. Then winterize
your RV waterlines with antifreeze as normal. (Refer to
Winterizing the Plumbing System)
Decalcification:
Lime scale occurs as a result of precipitation from “hard” water. The appliance must
be decalcified regularly depending on water hardness and hot water consumption. The
decalcification process takes approximately 3 hours to complete. Appliance must be
flushed with clean water when finished. If decalcification is interrupted damage to the water
heater is possible. For safety reasons: once the process is started it must not be stopped
until the system has been rinsed. All operating modes of the appliance are blocked until
decalcification has been completed. When completed switch the water heater power OFF
then ON to return to normal operation.
BASIC MODEL:
Decalcification must be done through your RV dealer for the Basic
model. Specialized equipment is required and cannot be easily done by the owner.
COMFORT & COMFORT PLUS MODELS:
Models with the interior rotary control dial have a “CLEAN” setting available. These
models also include a built in water consumption meter that will light the yellow LED on
the rotary dial when decalcification is required. The LED will go out briefly every 7 seconds
indicating decalcification is necessary.
Procedure for Comfort & Comfort Plus Models:
1.
Set the rotary dial inside the RV to OFF.
2.
Turn the water pump OFF, turn water
supply OFF.
3.
Open hot water faucet to relieve pressure
on the system.
4.
Attach warning signs on all fixtures that
decalcification is in process.
5.
Open the exterior access door panel to the
“service” position.
6.
Turn water heater power OFF.
7.
Drain water out of the appliance and remove the inlet filter.
8.
Place six (6) decalcification tablets in the water inlet filter as shown.
9.
Re-install the water inlet filter and close the drain chute.
10. Turn water heater power switch ON.
11. Turn the water supply ON, turn water pump ON.
12. Fill the water system.
13.
Open all fixtures: toilet, showers, faucets.
14.
When water flows steadily from all fixtures, the system is vented.
15.
Close all fixtures.
16. Tablets dissolve in approximately 10 minutes. Run water only as long as necessary
when filling the water system. Tablets will turn the water slightly red.
NOTE:
Using air pressure to blow out your Aqua Go water heater is
NOT recommended and may damage the appliance.
