2. QUALITY
2.1 CE MARKING
Järven’s Health Care mattresses and covers are CE marked according to
MDD93/42/EEC Medical Device Directive Class 1. CE marking means that Järven
Health Care has manufacturer liability and declares the product to be in comp-
liance with essential requirements and that it has technical documentation and
a declaration of conformity which should be retained for at least five years. The
declaration of conformity with essential requirements has been submitted to
Läkemedelsverket (the Medical Products Agency).
2.2 QUALITY DEVELOPMENT WORK

Järven Health Care focuses in particular on the continuous development and training of healthcare staff

infections and the reduction of fires that occur in hospitals and medical institutions.

4. PRODUCT INFORMATION
4.1 MELISSA MATTRESS AND COVER
The Melissa mattress (with cover) is a replacement mattress which is placed directly on the bed base. It is
suitable for all environments and is available with different levels of pressure relief. NOTE: The Melissa
mattress pad is a thinner mattress which is placed above a good base mattress.
Melissa mattresses are constructed of pressure-relieving foam (homogeneous or multilayer core) which
forms itself to the contours of the body and which should therefore distribute pressure across the entire
body surface. This facilitates blood circulation and reduces the risk of pressure sores.
In order to ensure choice of the correct mattress for the correct area of use, the pressure-relieving capacity
of all mattresses is tested in accordance with SS 876 00 13:2010 and can be compared on our website or
by consulting the mattresses’ product sheets (for more information about the test method, please read
our information sheet: Pressure Management).
The optional mattress covers are fluid proof and thus prevent substances such as urine and blood, etc.
from penetrating the mattress itself. Hygiene covers are steam permeable and made of a rustle free, 2-way
stretch polyurethane fabric.
The cover has a zip with a drip edge on 3 or 4 sides (RXI-5), making it easier to remove and replace it for
washing. Choose from two different covers for your mattress; the basic RX-5 version or the RXI-5 with
handles and built-in evacuation function.
