Smocking

Stitch selector:

21

Stitch width:

3Ð6.5

Top thread tension:

1Ð4

Presser foot:

A: Zigzag foot

With the manual stitch length at 4.5, sew straight
lines 1cm (3/8ý) apart, across the area to be
smocked.

A looser needle thread tension will make gathering
easier. Knot the threads along one edge.
Pull the bobbin threads and distribute the gathers
evenly.

Secure the threads at the other end.

Reduce the tension and pressure if necessary and
sew pattern stitchs between the straight seams.

Pull out the gathering stitches.
